Embroidery FAQ.
Do you do embroidery in-house?
No — and we are upfront about it. Brittoprint handles design, logo digitizing, mockup approval, garment sourcing and project management in-house. The embroidery stitching itself is done by trusted production partners we have worked with for years. You get one point of contact, one invoice, one team to call — and we handle the supply chain so you do not have to manage three vendors (digitizer, garment wholesaler, embroidery shop) yourself.
How much does custom embroidery cost in Fort Myers?
Embroidered polos run $4–$15 each, caps and hats $8–$25, jackets $15–$45 — driven by stitch count, garment cost and quantity. There is also a one-time logo digitizing fee of $150–$450 to convert your logo into an embroidery file. You only pay digitizing once per logo, no matter how many reorders. For a 24-piece polo run with chest logo, expect about $250–$450 total including digitizing.
What file types do you need for embroidery?
Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF, SVG) are best — these get cleanly converted into embroidery formats (DST, EMB, PES). A high-resolution PNG or JPG at 300 DPI also works. We handle the digitizing for you — turning your logo into the stitch file the embroidery machine reads. If you only have a low-res social-media file, we will rebuild your logo first (small flat fee) or recommend a redesign via our logo design service.
Can you do small quantities under 12?
Yes, in many cases. Most embroidery shops set a minimum of 12 pieces because of setup time, but some of our production partners take orders down to 6 pieces — and individual one-off embroidery (a single jacket, a custom apron, a family-business hat order) is doable at a higher per-piece rate. Ask us up front, we will tell you honestly what is and is not realistic for your quantity. For small batches under 12, DTF is often the better economics and we will steer you there if it makes sense.
What is the difference between embroidery and DTF or heat transfer?
Embroidery is stitched thread on the garment — premium look, indestructible, lasts 100+ wash cycles, perfect for polos, hats, jackets and executive gifts. DTF (direct-to-film) is a heat-pressed print — better for full-color or photo-quality art, small batches, soft hand-feel and athletic wear. Embroidery wins on perceived quality and durability; DTF wins on detail, color count and small-quantity flexibility. We do DTF in-house and coordinate embroidery — for many clients the right answer is both, depending on the garment type. Deep dive: DTF vs Screen Printing vs Embroidery comparison.
Can I get embroidered shirts the same day?
No — we never promise same-day embroidery. Standard turnaround is 7 to 14 business days for small runs (12–50 pieces) and 14 to 21 days for larger runs. Embroidery requires digitizing, mockup approval, thread sourcing, machine setup and quality check — none of that compresses well. If you have a hard deadline, tell us up front and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit it via our rush-capable partners.
Can you embroider names on each piece (individual personalization)?
Yes — individual names on each polo, jacket or apron is one of our most-requested upgrades for restaurant, medical and dealership uniform programs. Adds roughly $3–$6 per garment for the name. We coordinate the spreadsheet of names with you up front so nothing gets misspelled, and we ship sorted by employee for easy distribution.
