Laser engraving FAQ.
What materials can you laser engrave?
Wood (pine, birch, walnut, bamboo), acrylic (clear, frosted and colored), anodized aluminum, stainless steel with marking paste, leather and glass (etch-style finish). If you have an unusual material — Corian, ceramic tile, slate, anodized titanium, painted metal — send a sample to the shop in Lehigh Acres and we will test-burn a coupon for you before quoting the full job. We will not engrave PVC, vinyl or anything that off-gasses chlorine.
What is the minimum order for name badges?
10 badges minimum on bulk pricing. Tier pricing kicks in at 25, 50 and 100+ pieces — the more you order, the lower the per-unit price. We also do single one-offs at $25–$45 each for memorial gifts, replacement badges or one-piece corporate awards when you just need a single engraved item. Pin, magnet and adhesive backs are included.
Can you engrave my company logo?
Yes — send a vector file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) for the cleanest engraved result. Vector art scales without losing edge sharpness and burns crisp on every material. If you only have a raster logo (PNG, JPG, screenshot from your site), we rebuild it as a vector for a small art fee ($35–$75 one-time) before engraving. We will not engrave a low-resolution logo as-is — it comes out fuzzy and you will not be happy with it.
How long does laser engraving take to produce?
Standard turnaround is 3 to 5 business days from artwork approval. Rush 1 to 2 days is available for an upcharge when our laser capacity allows — ask up front so we can confirm. We never promise same-day laser engraving. Quality engraving requires test-burning the actual material lot, dialing in power and speed, and letting the piece cool before quality check. Rushed jobs come out scorched, faint or unevenly burned — and you will not want to give them as a gift.
Do you do bulk pricing for wedding favors and corporate gifts?
Yes — 50+ wedding favors drop to $5–$12 each depending on material and design complexity. 100+ corporate gifts and welcome kits get tiered bulk pricing on a quote-by-quote basis. Send us the design plus quantity and we will quote within 48 hours. We have produced wedding favor runs of 200+ for SWFL weddings and 500+ name badges for corporate onboarding without missing the deadline — but always plan 2–3 weeks out for runs over 100 pieces.
Is the engraving really permanent?
Yes — laser engraving is part of the material itself, not printed or stuck on top. It does not fade in UV light, peel from heat or humidity, scratch off, or wear in a dishwasher. Anodized aluminum badges hold for the life of the badge. Walnut and acrylic awards still read crisp 30 years later. The only failure mode is if the underlying piece breaks — but the engraving itself never wears.
Can I bring in my own item to engrave?
Yes — you can drop off your own glassware, leather goods, knives, flasks, trophies, plaques or pet collars and we will engrave them. We test-burn a hidden corner first to confirm the material reacts predictably. We will not engrave items containing PVC, vinyl, polycarbonate, or anything that off-gasses chlorine — those release toxic fumes and damage the laser optics. If you are not sure what your item is made of, send a photo and we will tell you before you bring it in.
